Michael E. Reidy: 1918-2009

Michael E. Reidy, Esq.
August 5, 1918 – April 12, 2009

It is with great sorrow that we announce that Mike Reidy, our benevolent friend, mentor, and colleague, passed away, fittingly, on Easter Sunday.  His smile, good-natured humor, life experience, and incredible depth of knowledge on the law will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him – our firm, the legal community as a whole, his family and friends, his Church, and the Diocese of .  Mike joined our predecessor firm Calkins, Kramer, in April of 1979, and remained a valuable source of legal advice and friendship right up until the end.

Mike was a very great man who touched us all and is irreplaceable in our hearts. We were privileged to know him and work with him, and we all learned a great deal from his fascinating anecdotes about the many historical he was involved in throughout the Denver area.  Our “Mike Reidy Conference Room,” dedicated to him at a special firm luncheon held on his 90th birthday last August, will continue to serve as a quiet of his many contributions to Grimshaw & Harring and all who knew him.  Rest in Peace dear friend – we will miss you.

Mr. Reidy practiced law in Colorado for over sixty years, in the areas of real estate and .  He was was born in West Mineral, Kansas on August 5, 1918, was admitted to the Colorado bar in 1943, and joined Calkins, Kramer, Grimshaw & Harring in April, 1979.

Phil Quatrochi’s practice focuses primarily on and commercial transactions, including contract disputes, construction law and .  He commonly litigates cases before both state and federal courts in Colorado, and has litigated disputes involving complex commercial litigation, intellectual property, and leases, construction law matters, property disputes, collections, law, banking matters, and union fee disputes. His construction law experience includes drafting and negotiating construction contracts, representing clients in mechanic’s liens and governmental construction project bond disputes, and construction-related litigation.

Phil’s corporate experience includes advising for-profit and non-profit entities on a broad range of matters, including formation and dissolution, contracts, acquisitions, property and leasing issues, commercial financings and employment issues.  He also advises on employment related matters.

Phil’s real estate experience includes drafting and negotiating real estate contracts and leases, and client representation before planning and design review boards.

Phil was a summer clerk at Grimshaw & Harring in 1995, joined the firm as an associate in 1996, and became a director/shareholder in 2004.  He grew up in , Colorado and was admitted to practice law in Massachusetts in 1996, and in Colorado in 1997.  Phil lives with his wife Ali, son Cooper and daughter Macy in Denver.  Phil currently spends most of his spare energy training for marathons, including the upcoming Boston Marathon.
